off in the distance i can see a light<br>
though i see it, i know it will be a journey to reach it<br>
as i walk towards the light i realize<br>
through its flickers, this path is very familiar to me<br>
the curves and the stones that make up the road<br>
all have a strange deja vu feeling about them<br>
all of my senses are telling me to stop<br>
but i persist towards the light<br>

as i draw nearer i see the light is a candle<br>
casting shadows onto your face<br>
i can see you smiling back at me<br>
encouraging me<br>
the moment i reach you my world is lit by your flame<br>
there is no more flickering and no more shadows on our faces<br>
and i am happy once again<br>

but in an instant all is dark<br>
you are gone<br>
and i am left alone<br>
but off in the distance i can see a light
